This tutorial covers Musical Scales for electronic musicians. As an electronic musician you don't have to spend hours practicing and learning scales. In this video we will discuss the purpose of scales and how to reference them in FL Studio. Covered in this video: Key Names, Sharp, Flat, Natural, Major Scales, Modal Scales, Scale Helper, and Reference Chanel Background helper.

This is a short 1:30 remake of Rude Boy by Rihanna. Most sounds used are external vsts. No FLP will be given out. Please don't ask.

fantastic ste
@Allplussomeminus This is great too – Eventually you won’t have to reference any more – so you learn it with out frustration and it will help you harmonize better until then.
REFERENCING!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I also enjoyed the amounts of knowledge you shared! Much Appreciated!
Hey man, need some help
I need some filter for mixer that has veltrk and keytrk knobs, similar to ones from Vanguard. Do you know any?
it is a 7 note scale , all scales in indian music start with the note C and if we transpose the notes it will change to another scale, In indian music every scale have a particular feel and a best time to play, this scale have a calm feel and it is good to play in the sunrise. The scale in indian music are of two types , with 7 notes and their derivatives. they are known as raaga.
@Mr6197000 Having 24 tones instead of 12.
@ste1438 I did not understand what you are telling , in fact what do you mean by a quarter tone scale?
@TheKillander It will sound much different -The root is based on a minor chord, instead of a major chord.
won’t the natural Dorian D scale cound like a C major scale though?
man this is so helpfull thanks
You just saved me A LOT of googling
@ste1438 There is still a lot of complexity, tradition, and spirituality in Indian Music. Those concepts don’t seem to apply in Western Music any more.
@Mr6197000 that is interesting. Is the scale used a quarter tone scale?
in( indian ) carnatik music music this scale is called mayamalavigaula the 15th scale
HELL YEAH ARAB music lol
great tutorial as always. but do you know why changing root key works in the opposite direction? C6 is An octave lower than C5 for example when it should be higher.
Stupid ads are annoying now.

Thanks and yes I am using Nexus…Yep there are a lot of FL Remakes using inferior sounds but the program shouldn’t be to blame…it should be their choice of the sounds they are using!
most those sound sound like nexus. good job tho, you got them close to the original sound. tired of people putting up FL remakes and making the program look bad cause they suck at it
